If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. ~Mother Teresa
Things alter for the worse spontaneously, if they be not altered for the better designedly. ~Francis Bacon
Sustainability Partners was registered as a UK charity in June 2007.
Our approved charitable objects are:
To develop the capacity and skills of the members of socially and economically disadvantaged communities in such a way that they are better able to identify and help meet their needs and to participate more fully in society, in particular but not exclusively by supporting the development of self help associations.
To relieve financial hardship, either generally or individually, through the provision of grants, goods or services.
To promote the protection and sustainable use of the natural environment for the benefit of the public, through education, training and demonstration projects.
"The focus of any programme of rural regeneration .... must be local people. ....They themselves have to get together to resolve the whole spectrum of issues that face them, including health care, access to water and sanitation, microcredit and care of the environment. That is not communism, socialism or nationalism; it is common sense.
The rural people themselves have to be the leaders of their own development process. It is futile to impose our ideas and models on them. For development to be self-sustaining it has to be self-organised". ~ Chris Wright, Resurgence, 237
